Glitter Bomb

Last day of classes! I was so happy to be done with school today, I decided to bust out my party shorts. Admittedly, sequin things are a lot less comfortable than they look. And the weather on the island today decided to stand its ground with the whole clouds and cold, so I had goosebumps all afternoon. I've been enjoying these casual, relaxed looks I've been putting together, just because they are SO easy, and I don't feel entirely odd walking downtown in them (When you live in a town as small as this, just wearing heels can incite gossip) The blazer I'm wearing was actually a medical coat of my late mothers when she went through residency. I have an off-white/cream blazer, but this one is a crisper white, and wearing it is special to me.

One thing I love that no one seems to do anymore is pins and brooches. Its such an easy kind of jewelry to wear yet they seem to have a reputation for being an "old lady" accessory. The one I'm wearing here was actually a vintage rhinestone cling on earring. The back came off a few years ago, and I glued a pin back onto to make it a fun, sparkly fringe brooch. I did this with a few other old rhinestone clip ons to. I'll be sure to include them in future posts as they are rather adorable.
