Brocade, damask, tassels, filigree, gold leaf- this beautiful fall 2012 trend will surely leave you flat Baroque. Haaahha. My jokes suck, I know. Anyways, so its not exactly fall anymore, but timeliness has never been my thing. Mastered by Balmain, and dabbled in by D&G, this 17th century idea of opulence translates beautifully to skinny jeans, minidress, and more. Today I'm sharing a wealth (!) of inspiration with you guys. Wiki describes Baroque as "A period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance and music." Those brocade heels sure got me exuberant.
So.. this might be a bit of a dissappointment, but its almost my bedtime and I am way too lazy to put together/ put on an actual outfit, I am currently rocking two pairs of leggings and a sweater that looks like the sewing machine exploded while it was being made. And its damn cozy. I'll show what I've found in my closet that might be Louis XIV worthy.. well, not exactly but you understand.
I purchased this blazer last summer from a consignment store on the island, second act, and have worn it all of one time. I adore it, however I can see how it looks a bit like upholstery.
and these are the best baroque-esque (thats a lot of que's insn't it?) jewels I could find amongst my things. I love my lion crest necklace, I really need to do an outfit with it. I got it at a thrift store in Germany when I was nine (Can I sound any douchey-er?)
So again, I apologize for no real outfit, but I'd rather finish watching Watchmen that put real pants on. Fashion is hard.
