So nothing on today's wish list is anything we could afford. Period. End of story.
Today I'm sharing with you my picks from the New York and Paris spring shows' accessories. I would have done Milan and London too but I could feel the carpal tunnel coming on after clicking through the slideshows on WWD for so long. Each designers accessories were so deliciously unique, but a few commonalities shone through- like that odd inverted looking heel (not a fan), pastels, metallics, platforms, chains, gemstones, cuffs, acrylics, blah blah blah not all that different from what we saw last year (in my untrained eye's opinion) except thank god that dastardly neon thing seems to be on its way out and mint seemed to back the F off a little and give peaches and corals a chance. It's the details that really set some of these pieces apart like fringe, scalloped leather, spikes, beads, and even raffia, cages, and barbed wire! I'd have to say my favorite collections were those from Diane Von Furstenburg and Lanvin. Both of them encompassed two very different attitudes that I'm always crushing on and trying to exude when I dress. DVF had a lot of feminine colors and poppy, zany details while still remaining sexy, and Lanvin had very intense, powerful looking pieces that just seemed darker and kind of "bossy" to me. Loved them.
